The organisation has asked the film’s producer-director Mahesh Manjrekar to change the title. Manjrekar met Chavan on Monday seeking protection.

“I have assured all help for facilitating the (movie’s) release provided the censor clears it yet again,” said Chavan. “There are legal provisions for controlling any untoward incident.”

On Monday, a delegation of Maratha Mahasangh activists submitted its plea to the censor board. The board is yet to reply.

However, Chavan refused to take action against Nitesh Rane for pressuring producer of Marathi movie Zenda to cut some scenes. “I did not get any complaint from the producer (Avdhoot Gupte),” he said.
