Cong unfazed by DMK threat
The war of nerves has sharpened between the Congress and the DMK amid indications that the UPA’s lead party is unlikely to persuade its frontline southern ally against carrying out its threat of pulling out from the Union Council of Ministers.
As part of this strategy, the Congress’s crisis managers spent a quiet weekend here on Sunday. They made no peace overture to the DMK, dropping hints that in the absence of a fair seat-sharing pact their party was open to going it alone or attempting a last-minute poll accord with the AIADMK.
