On Friday, Ashok Harishchandra Chougule was caught red handed near the taxi stand at Mumbai Central railway station while accepting the bribe.

According to the ACB, the complainant had been jailed in 2007 for three and half months on cheating charges.

The complainant had been externed from the city limits on charges of cheating in February 2009.

He told the ACB that after he returned to the city, Chougule along with another constable asked him for money.

They also threatened to arrest him if he refused to pay them. The complainant has alleged that for the past few days he paid Rs 200-Rs 300 everyday to the constables.

Tired of the regular harassment, the complainant approached the ACB, which laid a trap and arrested Chougule.

The ACB is looking for the second constable.
