Singh, an IPS officer of the 1986 batch, was earlier the chief vigilance and security officer of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada). He was transferred from Mhada to Nashik jail and is currently posted in Aurangabad.

“He filmed a few bomb blast accused the torture they were subjected to by prison officials. He then sent the film to the department and also distributed it to the media. He should be suspended for this behaviour,” Patil said in the Legislative Council on Thursday.

Patil was replying to the issue of law and order in the state raised by Bharatiya Janata Party member of legislative council Pandurang Phundkar.
