Day 2 of online admissions: 40 pc candidates submit applications

Nearly 2.7 lakh students are eligible for admission to junior college and of these, 42,686 submitted their forms online. Several others submitted their forms offline through the minority quotas.

The second day too, was as uneventful as the first, with no major glitches reported by schools or students.

“We have been working non-stop to ensure a smooth admissions process this time, and hope it will get better each year,” said an education department official.

“A job well begun is half done — we expect the rest of the admissions to also go well.”

Jamnabai Narsee principal Sudeshna Chatterjee said: “It has all gone well and been uneventful so far.”
