Doctors want fresh post mortem done

The Versova police, investigating the deaths of the Chougule siblings, Rameez and Rehab, who died because of alleged pesticide poisoning last month, said the expert medical panel of four doctors ascertaining the cause of their deaths, wanted another post mortem conducted. They had submitted their report on Monday.

The Versova police, investigating the deaths of the Chougule siblings, Rameez and Rehab, who died because of alleged pesticide poisoning last month, said the expert medical panel of four doctors ascertaining the cause of their deaths, wanted another post mortem conducted. “The panel has said the post mortem was necessary to ascertain the actual cause of death,” said a senior official who did not wish to be named.

However, the official said the police would have to get the siblings’ bodies exhumed for the post mortems. “The Chougule family has not filed an official complaint with the Versova police in the matter. We will have to seek their permission to go ahead with the exhumation. As of now, there are no plans to exhume the bodies,” said the official.
