In the court, Sandeep Shinde, advocate for ED, said they wanted to interrogate Khan further after “express directions from the Supreme Court to submit a report before them”.

Shinde requested for permission to take Khan to the ED’s office from jail and interrogate him in their office for a few hours till April 1. Khan’s lawyer IP Bagaria defended the custody stating that the sections of money-laundering act, under which his custody for interrogation was being sought, were incorrect.

He stated that the ED should be directed to take their camera and videographers to the jail to interrogate Khan.

Additional principal judge, KP Purohit, granted ED the permission to interrogate and hold video recording of Khan from 10.30am to 5.30pm till April 1 and complete custody of his aide Tapuriah till April 2.
