The FIR has been registered against Principal Anita Nair and clerk Chandrika Nair of Swami Vivekananda school, Assistant Commissioner of Police Jalinder Khandagale said.

"Further probe is on and we will arrest the duo after it is over," he said.

Khalid Sheikh, a Class VIII student of the suburba chembur school, had on Wednesday allegedly commited suicide following his suspension from the school for a week by the Principal.

The action was taken after the boy allegedly beat up his classmate causing him injuries, police said.

The boy's uncle Abdulla Sheikh was called to the school where he was told not to send his nephew for a week as he has been suspended for "misbehaviour".

Subsequently, his uncle lodged a complaint against the principal and the clerk.
