Former cidco chairman passes away

Narayanrao Marathe, former chairman of CIDCO, passed away after a prolonged illness at his residence in Kalyan on Wednesday. He was 81 years old. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and sons-in-law.

Narayanrao Marathe, former chairman of CIDCO, passed away after a prolonged illness at his residence in Kalyan on Wednesday. He was 81 years old. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and sons-in-law.

Narayanrao Marathe was first elected in 1962 as councillor in the Kalyan Municipal Council and became its president in 1967. In 1998, he became a member of the finance commission of India and in 1995 he became CIDCO chairman. He was conferred with the President’s award for his good work and contribution to the Civil Defence Services.
