The incident occurred at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) Haji Ali pumping station. Though Rokde did not sustain any injuries, two civic officials were injured.

Rokde said, “We had cleared some hawker stalls in the evening and had kept the seized materials at the pumping station at Haji Ali. When we went back there to transport seized goods to our godown, a group of around 20 persons pelted us with stones.” He added that the group consisted of hawkers against whom action had been taken.

Police sub-inspector AR Maneer from the Tardeo police station said, “We are not aware of the incident.”
