According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Chetan Shah was booked for storing hazardous chemicals at his Kandivli godown without acquiring proper license under the provisions of the Mu- Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act.
A raid was conducted by the staff of the Vigilance Squad Licence, under the Superintendent of Licences of the civic body, along with the senior inspector of the ward concerned.
During the raid, 1,462 litres of chemicals suchas Toulene, Ethyl Acetate, Diaceton Alcohol, ISO — Proply Alcohol and Xylene were seized by the civic officials from the godown, the police officials said.
A first information report was lodged with the Charkop police.
