Hazare's fast unwarranted: Dwivedi

AICC general secretary Janardhan Dwivedi on Saturday said that Anna Hazare's proposed fast in the city next week was unwarranted, as the Parliament was seized of the Lokpal Bill.

"Anna need not have taken the trouble... as Parliament is to take up debate on Lokpal. We have left the passing of the Lokpal Bill to the Parliament and the people of this country," said Dwivedi, who is also the head of Congress's media department.

He also said he hoped that political leaders would not be insulted during the upcoming fast, as happened during the earlier fast at the Ramlila ground.
