IG probe into Dadar mill fire: RR Patil

Home Minister, R.R. Patil, has promised that an officer of the level of inspector general will probe the fire that took place at Dadar’s Goldmohar Mills on January 20, 2010.

Patil was responding to Congress Member of Legislative Council, Alka Desai, who alleged there was foul play. Desai asked if the investigation in this case revealed whether the fire was deliberate.

“We found kerosene on the site and have arrested people behind the fire. But the contractors behind it took anticipatory bail,” said Patil. “The police are trying to get their bail cancelled.” Patil said there was a possibility that these incidents were directly related to redevelopment issues.
