Juhu rave: summons sent to 44 who tested positive

The Juhu police on Sunday issued summons to those who tested positive for consumption of narcotics at the sundown party at Hotel Oakwood Premier in Juhu.

The Juhu police on Sunday issued summons to those who tested positive for consumption of narcotics at the sundown party at Hotel Oakwood Premier in Juhu.

"Summons have been issued to them and they should come in for questioning on Monday. They will be booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act," said Pratap Dighavkar, deputy commissioner of police, zone 9.

After the raid at Oakwood Premier, the partygoers were taken to the Cooper, Bhabha and JJ hospitals. After verifying their identity, the doctors collected their blood and urine samples, following which they were asked to sign an undertaking. The undertaking stated that if their medical tests proved they had consumed drugs, they would cooperate with the police and arrive at police stations whenever summoned, the police said.

Of the results of 46 persons that arrived on Friday, 27 had consumed cannabis, one person had taken MDMA, 16 had taken both cannabis and MDMA, and two tested negative for drugs. 29 tested positive for alcohol while 17 tested negative.

The findings of another 46 blood and urine samples, including those of 38 women, are yet to arrive.
