In less than a month, another leopard has been spotted in Goregaon. On Saturday night, the wild animal was spotted around 8.30pm at Aarey Colony at the National Diary Development Board office from where it ran towards Mahanand Dairy.

“The animal was sitting at the National Dairy Development Board Unit No12 in Aarey Colony. later, it crossed the road and ran towards Mahanand Dairy. We have informed forest officials and the Goregaon (East) police,” said Laxman Tonpe senior police inspector, Aarey police station.
The big cats have been seen in the locality regularly but, so far no harm to any human being as been reported. “For the past seven-eight months, residents have been offering water and food to the leopards but the animal does not harm them,” Tonpe added.
“Our squad is keeping track of the animal. Forest officials are expected to reach the spot to trap the leopard,” said a Goregaon (East) police officer, requesting anonymity.
On March 29, a leopard was stuck inside an unused water tunnel. It was rescued and sent to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
