March 30 was the last date for submissions after several deadline extensions. Civic officials on Saturday did not confirm whether the deadline would be extended further.
Following consistent reports in HT, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) allowed public participation in the formulation of the DP in December and displayed the ELU maps in all ward offices for easy public access. The move received a massive response from
individuals, citizen groups and non-government organisations (NGOs).
Officials from the DP department said the complaints were being processed until last week. “We are still processing all the responses and will have the final figure in the next few days. These responses are also yet to be scrutinised as not all of them are relevant,” said a civic official.
Around 1,200 responses have been scrutinised so far.
