While colleges have placement cells, the university did not have a formal placement structure.
However, from this year, the university's student welfare department plans to put in place its own placement activities - conducting recruitment drives, tying up with college placement cells and conducting a written test. It will be open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The first recruitment for this year is for the post of business development executives in the banking sector and the recruitment process will take place at the Kalina campus on July 24. "We are looking at an integrated employment approach for all our students," said Mrudul Nile, director of students' welfare at the university. "Any sector or company can approach us if they want to hire them."
He said that the placement policy would follow a three-pronged approach - liaising with companies, conducting a test and roping in the university's employment exchange bureau.
Students can keep track of recruitment drives through the university's website.
