BMC workers’ union threaten agitation

Municipal unions, affiliated to the Shiv Sena, in coordination with the other unions, have threatened to go on an indefinite agitation from February 21. They are demanding payment of arrears of Rs 300 crore within the next 10 days. Additional Municipal Commissioner (Finance) Anil Diggikar said: “I will speak with the municipal commissioner and take further decision.”

60-year-old held for molesting 2 minors

Vasant Poddar (60) was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly molesting two minor girls by luring them with chocolates. Poddar, who works with a private firm, was handed over to the police by his neighbours.

Dumper runs over motorcyclist

Motorcyclist Mohammed Sheikh (30) was crushed to death when his two-wheeler came under the rear tyres of a dumper near DN Nagar on Wednesday. His brother Karim is said to be stable. Dumper driver Manoj Bid (23) has been arrested.
