According to the police, the incident took place in sector no 8 of Charkop.
Taking note of the same technique used in breaking all the windows, the police feel that a professional has carried out the theft. The targeted cars were Toyota Qualis, Maruti Alto, Maruti Swift Desire, Chevrolet Spark and Tata Indigo.
The car owners got to know of the theft only as they reached near the vehicles to leave for work.
Prashant Shinde, one of the persons whose music system has been stolen from his car, said, "As I came down this morning to leave for work, I realised that the music system from my Toyota Qualis which was worth Rs 5,000 was stolen. This is the second instance in four months. Others too have lost some valuables kept inside the car."
"History-sheeters are being inquired to ascertain if anyone of them is involved in the crime," said a police officer from Charkop police station, requesting anonymity because he is not authorised to talk to the media.
