"Pawar was admitted to Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai this evening and would undergo the procedure on Wednesday to remove infective granuloma in his mouth," NCP state spokesperson Prakash Binsale said.

Director of city-based Prince Aly Khan hospital, Sultan Pradhan, who has been treating Pawar for last few years, would conduct the surgery, he said.

"The test conducted for oral cancer showed a negative report, but there is an infection in mouth which will be removed," Pradhan said.
