Advocate VP Patil and journalist Ketan Tirodkar filed two different PILs in the Bombay HC on Wednesday seeking a CBI probe into J Dey killing.

Tirodkar’s petition highlights the underworld-police nexus, which resulted in shooting of Dey. Patil’s petition states that the murder was an “attack on the fourth pillar of the democracy.”

The Mumbai police have failed to detect the crime due their inefficiency and the case should be be transferred to the CBI, Patil’s petition said.
