Prostitution racket busted in Vikhroli, 46-year-old arrested

The police recently busted a prostitution racket at a residential apartment in Vikhroli. The Vikhroli police said that Kanchan Sonawane (46), who allegedly worked as a pimp was arrested while three girls, who had allegedly been forced into flesh trade, were rescued.

The Vikhroli police said that Kanchan Sonawane (46), who allegedly worked as a pimp was arrested while three girls, who had allegedly been forced into flesh trade, were rescued.

The raid was conducted at a residential flat at Tagore Nagar in Vikhroli. The police had got a tip-off following which a policeman posing as a customer approached the accused.

Sonawane has been booked on charges of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
