According to the MNS, it was a courtesy call made by Tata. "We discussed issues such as the recent foray of Tatas into airlines, and other concerns," said Raj.

He said that both shared common passions of films, music, pets and books.

"I gifted him some books also," he added. They spoke in English, and Raj even showed him his painting collection. Raj also showed Tata the various breeds of dogs he owns.

Raj, who had toured Gujarat in 2011, had said that one of the reasons of doing so was praises heaped by Tata on Narendra Modi's administration.

While both have met several times, it was in December 2011 when Raj had visited Bombay House, the headquarters of the Tata Group. The two had discussed various issues such as industrialisation and the political situation.
