The victim, who sustained injuries on his right leg, was rushed to Bhagwati hospital and is said to the out of danger.

The police said, the incident happened on Tuesday night when Dean Periera, the owner of Domonica’s, had called his friend Dharmendra Vishwakar-ma over for drinks.

“The duo had two pegs of alcohol each. However Periera wanted his friend to drink more, which he refused as he wanted to go home,” said a police source.

The police said this lead to an argument between them and Periera in a fit of rage shot Vishwakarma on his right leg. The employees of the resort rushed him to Bhagwati hospital and informed the police.

The police said Periera’s revolver has been confiscated.

“Further investigation is on in the case,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Banerjee.

The officials are now in the process of taking statements of the servants who were present in the resort at that time.
