On April 26, three Mumbai-based friends, Tanmay Shanishchara, Abhishek Kadam and Pratish Ambekar, launched what they claim to be India’s first portal for bike riders, called Ride Till I Die. Avid riders themselves, the trio has organised several bike rides around the western coast of Maharashtra in the past, and felt that there wasn’t a one-stop portal in India for motorcycle enthusiasts.

“I’ve been into riding for the last three-four years. That is when I realised that even though there are many groups organising trips, they are spread out. It becomes difficult to access all the information at one go. That is where the idea for this website came about,” says Shanishchara, adding that the Ride Till I Die currently receives around 200 visitors daily.

On the portal, enthusiasts can access details of biker groups across the country, riding schedules and photos of trips taken. There is also a section about motorcycle maintenance and riding tips. The Rider Stories page, is an interesting addition, where the profiles of enthusiasts who have achieved rare feats are highlighted for everyone to see. “Anyone can put these up. There are so many wonderful stories out there, but we remain oblivious to them. This way they can be out there,” says Shanishchara.

In the near future, there are plans to list the best riding routes on the website. Those interested can start submitting route details. A mobile app is also in the offing.
