The party also refused to announce support to Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi saying the decision would be taken at the ‘right time.’

Sena MP Sanjay Raut said the decision will be taken when it comes up in the NDA steering committee meeting.

“The Shiv Sena is not supporting anyone or opposing anyone. Our party president Uddhav Thackeray says the decision will be taken at the right time,” he said, putting to rest the initial chatter that Sushma Swaraj will be Sena’s choice for prime minister.

In an interview, Bal Thackeray had expressed how Swaraj would be fit for the top post.

However, just about a week after Uddhav took up the top post of the party, Sena has clearly changed gears and wants to keep its options open. This became more obvious when Uddhav attended Modi’s swearing in ceremony.
