Sood was arrested on April 26 for in the case. On July 6, the crime branch filed a charge sheet against Sood and the other accused including Palande, Dhananjay Shinde and Manoj Gajkosh.
While moving the bail plea, Sood contended that she had been in jail since her arrest in the case, but played no role in it. The plea is scheduled for hearing next week. In the four-page application, she claimed that the charge sheet filed by the crime branch does not disclose her involvement in Tikku's murder.
According to the prosecution, Sood had introduced Palande to Anuj Tikku, the deceased's son. While Sood claimed to be Seema, she introduced Palande as her brother Karan. Palande then befriended Anuj and wanted to acquire his 1,500 sq ft flat in Lokhandwala. With an eye on the flat, he asked Anuj to rent out a portion of it to Palande's German wife Nibis Ligenza. Sood was a witness to the agreement.
