“The accused have been identified as Mohamed Islam Khan alias Shaikh (38) and Zahid Ahmed Siddique (33),” said police inspector Swapan Chowdhary from Dindoshi police station.

Initial investigation revealed that film director Bobby Ghosh the complainant, met Amman Siddhu, a Canadian resident in 2007 through Internet chats. Excited with their common interest in films, the duo decided to make a film titled Love Mein Aksar. The film was to be directed by Ghosh with Siddhu in the lead role. Siddhu who was also to finance the film,
reportedly made a credit of Rs 1.25 crore to Ghosh’s bank account.

The shooting started in March last year, but had to be discontinued after a week, due to the shortage of funds. Siddhu then returned to Canada, the police said.

Ghosh in his complaint said that since March 2009, he started receiving calls from Zahid directing him to pay the money he owes Siddhu or he would have to face dire consequences.
