The University of Mumbai (MU) has decided not to hold degree exams on the days when CA intermediate (IPC) exams have been scheduled.
The CA intermediate (IPC) will begin from November 8 and end on November 20. It will be held every alternate working day. The third year bachelor of commerce semester 5 exams will not be held on the CA exam days. Madhu Nair, dean of commerce faculty, Mumbai University, said: “Most TYBCom students appear for IPC. Therefore, we have decided not to hold semester 5 exams on IPC exam days.”
However, the university is yet to come up with a solution for repeaters appearing for semester 6 re-exams who are also appearing for CA exams. Controller of examinations Dinesh Bhonde said: “We are working on the exam timings for repeaters and also on exam dates clashing with MBA entrance exams, Common Admission Test (CAT), which will be held on November 16 and November 22.”
“However, exam timings will be clear when we put up the time table on Wednesday,” Bhonde added. The academic council meeting held on Tuesday said that colleges have to reopen on November 3 after Diwali holidays.
