Uddhav may be back in Lilavati for more tests

Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray might be back at Lilavati hospital on Friday for some more tests, and a heart procedure may be conducted on him. According to Sena sources, Uddhav has three blockages and doctors have suggested that he undergo a coronary bypass surgery.

However, the Thackerays are taking multiple opinions to explore the possibility of treating the blockages with an angioplasty, which is minimally invasive.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray, who rushed to Lilavati on Monday after his cousin was admitted there, and even drove him home and met his uncle Sena chief Bal Thackeray, is expected to be by Uddhav’s side during the operative procedure.

Raj’s visit has fuelled politicial speculation of a possible truce between the warring cousins, which may or may not happen. What is clear, however, is that the bitterness between the brothers has reduced, which party workers from both sides have welcomed.
