The farmers have been agitating in Mumbai at the Azad Maidan for more than two months and have made several attempts to meet the chief minister over the past few days.

The CM had assured them on March 22 that water will reach their villages within a week, but this has not happened yet.

The farmers on Tuesday also protested on the streets of Marine Lines to voice their disappointment.

“We will not leave the city until water reaches our villages,” said Bhaiyya Deshmukh, leader of Solapur Janhit Shetkari Sanghtatna.
