The fifth edition of the annual extravaganza, scheduled to take place at the Candolim beach in Goa from December 27-29, has peeved off the Goa government.

“As of now, the government hasn’t yet given permission for the festival. We’re looking into how the organisers have sold tickets online even though they haven’t been granted clearance,” said Goa government’s chief secretary, Sanjay Srivastava on Thursday morning.

However, the organisers are confident that everything will be sorted.

“There is a long documentation process before one gets the permission. We have already applied for it and hope that the government finds everything in order and supports us. Every year, we get the permission only close to the date of the event,” said Shailendra Singh of Percept, the organisers of the festival.

If all goes well, the festival is expected to be attended by actors Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor, apart from international music biggies such as Axwell, Infected Mushroom, Markus Schulz, Nic Fanciulli and more.

“I had all my plans set ... fingers crossed, really hope it happens,” says Ankit shorey, 25, a Sunburn fan.
