Anaconda shooting reports: Police respond to active shooter claims at Owl Bar
]Four were killed in a shooting at Owl Bar in Anaconda, MT. The suspect, Michael Paul Brown, 45, is on the run; the city is under lockdown.
Reports of an active shooter surfaced from the Owl Bar in Anaconda, Montana on Friday afternoon. Four people were dead at the bar on East 3rd Street in downtown Anaconda, the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation confirmed.

Granite County Sheriff's Department confirmed that it is an active shooter situation and the city. NBC Montana reported that the city of Anaconda has been placed on a lockdown.
“There is an active shooter in Anaconda Deer Lodge,” the statement from Granite County Sheriff read. "Granite County deputies are at the Georgetown Lake / Flint Creek area.
“The shooter is said to be wearing a tye dyed shirt, blue jeans and a orange bandana. There is no threat to Granite County at this time.”
Later, Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Center identified the suspect as Michael Paul Brown, 45, and said he was last seen in the Stumptown area of Anaconda.
The police said: "Be advised suspect in shooting is believed to be armed and dangerous. Suspect is Michael Paul Brown and was last seen in the stumptown area. Public is advised to stay out of the stumptown area and surrounding areas.
“If seen do not approach. Contact 911 for any way to contact Michael Paul Brown.”
GOP Congressman Ryan Zinke of Montana said in a post on X that his office is closely monitoring the situation in Anaconda.

“Conflicting reports of casualties and location of the shooter,” Zinke said. “Anyone in Anaconda should stay inside and lock their doors. Much is still unknown and the assailant is still not in custody. Heed direction from law enforcement. Stay safe.”
