The Ghaziabad police have booked three minor boys of a school and a youth after a 16-year-old girl student filed a police complaint of molestation, attempted abduction and assault.

The incident took place near a farmhouse in Govindpuram locality at around 6 pm on August 21 when the girl, a Class 11 student, was returning home from her coaching class.

The four men were in a car and had been stalking her for the past two months, the girl said in her complaint.

“They started chasing her and caught hold of her. They allegedly molested her and also slapped her several times. The complaint states that one of the boys forcibly covered her eyes and tried to abduct her in the car. Upon hearing her screams, locals came to her help and the boys fled. She then called her father and reached home,” an officer said.

The police said the three boys are students of classes 11 and 12 while the fourth man is a class 12 pass-out.

The FIR, filed at the Kavi Nagar police station, was lodged under IPC sections of 354a (1) (physical contact and advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 364/511 (abduction attempt) and also levied provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

“We have lodged an FIR and the investigation is on. The girl was sent for a medical examination. They had some run-ins in the past as well,” Atish Kumar Singh, circle officer (city 2), said.
