The Ghaziabad police on Thursday detained for questioning the director of Noida-based company Ringing Bells which had announced ‘Freedom 251’ smartphones at a price of Rs 251. The police said that the company director Mohit Goel was called in for questioning in connection with an FIR lodged by another firm.

“So far, he has not been arrested. There is some dispute with the distributor for not paying an amount of about Rs 12 lakh. The talks are on between the two parties regarding returning the money and an arrest has not been made,” said Manish Mishra, circle officer (city).

He added that the FIR against Goel was filed at Sihani Gate police station on Wednesday.
