The first MoU focusses on strengthening public health facilities to improve maternal and child health indicators along with sexual and reproductive health services in the district. The HCL Foundation has promised to implement community-based health intervention in Noida.

According to officials, the programme aims at working with the primary health centres and community health centres to reach out to the maximum number of people and provide them better services.

Another MoU was signed to enhance gender equity and self-efficacy of students by applying a structured curriculum to help them address concerns such as school drop-out rate, gender-based violence and meaningful engagement.

“The initiative will follow a public-private partnership model and HCL will work with about 40 schools in Noida,” Nidhi Pundhir, director, CSR, HCL Foundation, said.

The third MoU was signed with the objective of strengthening and improving the quality of service delivery across 50 integrated child development services (ICDS) aanganwadi (childcare) centres in Bisrakh block.

“These MoUs signed under the CSR will help us in improving our education and health facilities. We are expecting more corporate houses to come forward to have a similar association for the betterment of people,” BN Singh, district magistrate, Gautam Budh Nagar, said.

Noida MLA Pankaj Singh said, “Corporates can play an important role in social development if they work with the government. We are looking forward to having better educational and health facilities in the district.”
