After forming the government in the state in March 2017, chief minister Yogi Adityanath had directed all industrial authorities to focus on industrial development with an aim to generate employment. This is the biggest allotment of the industrial department since the formation of the new government in the state.

The authority had 125 plots on offer under this scheme in Sector 155, a dedicated industrial area carved out by the authority, along the expressway. The last date to submit applications under this scheme was until 5pm on October 3, 2017. Around 1,200 applicants had applied for the plots but only around 600 submitted necessary papers and fees to get a plot.

The authority had offered a total of 40 plots of 450 square metres area, 44 plots of 800-1,200 sqm area, 22 plots of 1,200-1,800 sqm area, 12 plots of 4,000 sqm area, four plots of 5,000 sqm area and four plots of 10,000 sqm area. Four plots of 800-1,200 sqm area will be allotted later.

The authority allotted plots through a lucky draw, which was organised at a park opposite Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra in Sector 6.

“We have allotted 121 of the total 125 plots. The remaining four plots will be allotted later through an open-ended process. The four plots could not be allotted due to lack of applicants,” RK Singh, officer on special duty, Noida authority, said.

The authority is selling these 125 plots of varied areas at the rate of Rs13,490 per square metre. The authority also recorded the entire process of plot allotment on video to ensure transparency, officials said.

Officials said that following the chief minister’s instructions, the Noida authority has carved out three industrial sectors — 155, 156 and 157. The industrial plots in sectors 156 and 157 will be alloted in the next phase.

“We will start giving possession of 121 allotted plots once the applicants complete required formalities,” Singh said.
