“We have written a letter to the NCRPB regarding funds to be spent on the various Metro projects to be taken up by the company after its formation. NCRPB has the onus of helping public agencies in managing funds for projects, which offer services to people in the NCR,” said an authority official.

To being with, the authority has approved a budget of R1,000 crore for the project.

The Noida authority on Saturday said that it will recruit engineers and other staff for its proposed project on contract. However, some officers will be deputed on permanent basis as it is being done in the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), said officials.

The authority had a meeting on Friday to chalk out a plan as to how the project will take shape in future.

“Once the NMRC name is registered after formal approval of the state government, we will start the process of recruiting staff so that it gets functional without any delay,” said Rama Raman chief executive officer (CEO) and chairman of Noida authority. According to the plan, Noida or Greater Noida authority chief executive officer will head the NMRC.

“NMRC staff will be recruited on the pattern of DMRC,” said Raman. Like DMRC, NMRC will also maintain and run all lines constructed by it.
