India’s Mansi wins silver in Junior Asian Wrestling Championships

India women won their second silver in the freestyle section of the Junior Asian Wrestling Championships in New Delhi on Friday.

India won two medals with Mansi claiming silver and Swati Sanjay Shinde bronze in their respective weight categories in women’s freestyle in the Junior Asian Wrestling Championships at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex here on Friday.

In 57 kg, Mansi reached the final but lost to Japan’s Akie Hania 0-10. Swati beat Duangnapa Boonyasu of Thailand 10-0 in the 53 kg bronze playoff.

The other Indians in action, Anshu (62kg), Tina (65kg) and Sonika Hooda (72kg) missed a podium finish.

India had won a silver and two bronze medals on Thursday -- Divya Kakran (68kg) claiming silver and Reena (55kg) and Karuna (76kg) bronze in women’s freestyle.

The overall trophy went to Japan, who finished with seven gold medals.
