The duo combined to record two eagles and seven birdies in an 11-under par 61 in the fourball format on the Blackstone course on China’s Hainan Island, with Irish pair Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell two back after a 63.

Also on nine-under was Scotland's Martin Laird and Stephen Gallacher.

Gurbani wins DGC ladies Open

NEW DELHI: Aditi Ashok, the talented 13-year-old from Bangalore, made a great charge on the final day of the Usha DGC Ladies Open but by then it was too late to cover the seven-shot lead that Gurbani Singh started with after the second round.

Playing flawless golf and landing four birdies against no bogeys, Aditi Ashok carded a four-under 68, by far the best card of the week. That left her four behind Gurbani (75).

Gurbani did not allow nervousness to get her and did not drop any shots further and cantered home.
