Superintendents of Police in the districts have been asked to intensify patrol on road and railway tracks.

Extra security was deployed to secure the property of railways, considered a soft target for the Naxalites, official sources said.

The police officers were also tipped about possible Maoist operations on the basis of intelligence inputs, they said.

The intelligence agencies have reportedly alerted the security establishments about possible attacks on government buildings and other vital installations in the Maoist-affected districts.
