Diwali stamps, gold coins to commemorate Indo-Israel ties

Like India, the festival of lights is celebrated in many other countries as well. Israel is one such country where it is celebrated as ‘Hanukkah’.

Israel is one such country where it is celebrated as ‘Hanukkah’.

To commemorate 20 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries, the department of posts of India and Israel have jointly released two stamps on the occasion.

“The message on the stamps is written in Hindi and English in India and the stamps released in Israel have message in English and Hebrew. Design of the Hanukkah is based on a Synagogue in Mumbai,” said the director (BD, Tech and Marketing), Bihar Circle Anil Kumar. Kumar released the stamps on behalf of the India Posts, Bihar Circle. The department of posts, Bihar Circle also released gold coins of the denomination of half a gram, one gram, two grams, five grams, eight grams, 10 grams, 20 grams and 25 grams on the occasion of Diwali. The department has announced 7% discount on the purchase of gold coin.
