New Alliance Air flight to Bhopal from Aug 24; Jet to launch direct Patna-Bangalore flight from Oct 1

Patnaites will get one-way air connectivity with Bhopal via Lucknow, as the Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, will introduce a new flight beginning August 24.
The routing of the aircraft is such that it will not return to Patna, but instead go to Jaipur from Bhopal via Lucknow.
Jet Airways will also introduce a direct flight between Patna and Bangalore from October 1, allowing Patnaites the luxury of five flights to choose from for Bangalore.
This is the first time any airline will connect the state capitals of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Prior to this, the Jet Airways used to operate a flight between Patna and Indore some four years back. The airline has since withdrawn the flight.
Air India station manager Mukesh Kumar said, the Alliance Air flight (AI 9694) will leave Lucknow at 11.50am and reach here at 1.20pm. From Patna, the flight (AI 9693) will leave at 1.50pm to reach Lucknow at 3.30pm. It will leave Lucknow at 4pm to reach Bhopal at 5.40pm.
From Bhopal, the flight (AI 9694) will leave for Lucknow at 6.10pm and reach there at 7.50pm. Instead of returning to Patna, it will go to Jaipur at 8.20pm and reach there at 10.15pm.

Besides providing new air connectivity with Bhopal, Patnaites will get an indirect air connectivity with Jaipur via Lucknow. At present, only IndiGo operates flights between Patna and Lucknow. However, those flying to Jaipur from Patna on the ATR-72 twin-engine turboprop Alliance Air aircraft, having a seating capacity of 70, will have to pay taxes for two sectors - Patna to Lucknow and Lucknow to Jaipur.
The new Jet Airways Bangalore-Patna-Bangalore flight (9W 959 and 9W 960) from October 1, will leave Bangalore at 5.50am and reach Patna at 8.40am. On return, it will leave at 9.10am and reach Bangalore at 11.55am, said Kumud Ranjan of Mamata Travels.
The Air India currently operates only three scheduled flights between Delhi and Patna daily. While AI 409/410 reaches Patna from Delhi at 12.05pm and returns at 12.50pm, AI 407/408 reaches Patna at 3.10pm and returns to Delhi at 3.55pm. AI 415/416 reaches Patna at 8.10pm and returns to Delhi at 8.55pm.
At present, there are 17 daily flights from Patna to Delhi, five to Mumbai, four each to Kolkata, Bangalore and Ranchi, two to Lucknow and one each to Chennai, Surat and Hyderabad.
IndiGo operates seven aircraft daily to Delhi, while GoAir, Air India and Jet Airways have three each and SpiceJet one, said Ranjan . IndiGo operates three flights to Mumbai, while GoAir and SpiceJet have one flight each. For Kolkata, Patnaites have four flights, with IndiGo operating three and SpiceJet 1.
There are also four flights available for Bangalore, with IndiGo operating two and GoAir and SpiceJet one each. There are two flights for Lucknow, both operated by IndiGo. There are four flying options from Patna to Ranchi, with GoAir and IndiGo operating two flights each. However, there is only one flight of IndiGo available on return from Ranchi to Patna.
SpiceJet operates a flight each to Chennai, Surat and Hyderabad daily.
