Patna HC grants bail to JD(U) leader Vijay Krishna

The Patna High Court granted regular bail to JD(U) leader Vijay Krishna in the transporter Satyendra Singh murder case.

The Patna High Court on Thursday granted regular bail to JD(U) leader Vijay Krishna in the transporter Satyendra Singh murder case.

Justice Anjana Prakash allowed Krishna's application for regular bail after hearing his counsel Shakeel Ahmed Khan and standing counsel for the state Prameshwar Mehta.

Justice Prakash directed Krishna to furnish a bail bond of Rs 10,000 with two sureties of like amount. Krishna had switched over to ruling JD(U) after quitting the RJD on the eve of the last Lok Sabha election.

He was arrested from Faridabad on August 20 by a Bihar police team assisted by Delhi police after evading arrest for around two months. Satyendra Singh's body dumped in the Ganga was recovered from the river from near Hajekala on the outskirts of the state capital on June 11. Police chargesheeted Krishna in the case in November.
