Noting a drop in demand for more Shramik Specials trains outbound from the national capital, the Delhi government on June 3 announced that it was pausing Shramik train services until there was a fresh requirement. After ferrying over 3 lakh migrants to their homes since the trains began running on May 1, Delhi government officials also point towards the slow revival of economic activity as one reason for migrants deciding to stay put instead of returning home.
