India celebrates joyous Christmas sans Covid-19 restrictions | Pics
Christmas across the country brought new joy as people were able to celebrate without restrictions, the first time in two years - after Covid made our lives 'virtual'. The day of Jesus Christ's birth saw special prayers and midnight masses, with people greeting each other in festive attire. Churches across the country were decorated with glittering lights and scenes depicting Christ's birth were seen on church grounds. To commemorate the festival, prayers were held at Chhattisgarh's Our Lady of the Rosary church, which is said to be the second largest in Asia (in terms of seating arrangement). The church, located in Jashpur, can accommodate approximately 10,000 people. The country's top leaders extended Christmas greetings to the people while emphasising the importance of spreading a message of peace and love.
