Janmashtami, known by various names such as Krishna Janmashtami, Saatam Aatham, Gokulashtami, Ashtami Rohini, Srikrishna Jayanti, and Sree Jayanti, is a festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, who is revered as an avatar of Lord Vishnu. This year, it will be celebrated on September 6, with 'Dahi Handi' observed on September 7. The country is gearing up for the festivities with great enthusiasm and anticipation.(ANI)
