Photos: Mumbai’s elderly comprise over half of city’s Covid-19 deaths

A review of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation data by HT shows that people aged 60 and above form over 50% of the total deaths recorded in the city due to Covid-19. Medical experts say senior citizens are more susceptible to Covid-19 compared to other age groups because of already-weakened immunity. These risks are amplified by comorbidities and the longer course of disease if they fall ill.
