Delhi and the National Capital Region remained in the grip of a cold spell on Friday morning, with Safdarjung, Delhi's main weather station, recording a minimum temperature of 9.4 degrees Celsius, which is 2.5 degrees Celsius below the normal range.  (AFP)

A meteorological "cold day" is declared when the maximum temperature is 4.5 degrees below normal, and the minimum temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius.  (PTI)
