Heavy rain batters Gujarat, NDRF team conducts rescue operation in Junagadh district

The IMD on Sunday issued an 'orange' alert for Gujarat, saying the state was expected to receive "heavy to very heavy rainfall" on July 24.

Incessant rain battered several parts of Gujarat creating flood-like situations in the multiple cities of the state. The situation was severe in Junagadh as it received 219 mm of rainfall from 8 hours till 4 pm on Saturday. Nearly 3,000 people have been shifted to safer places in the district, officials said. (ANI)

One person went missing in Navsari city on Saturday. "Our 40 teams are present at the spot...No loss of life reported, but one person is missing, search is underway", said Amit Prakash Yadav, collector, Navsari on Saturday. (PTI)
